David said in Psalms 37:23-24   "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.    Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand."

 Actually, the word "good" referring to man is not in the original text, but was added for clarity.  However, the meaning of the word translated "man" is one who is mature, strong, or under discipline.  If you have committed your life to Jesus as your Lord, then God would consider you in Christ to be such a person.  God is actively involved in directing each of your steps as you seek to follow Him. Circumstances and emotions may tell you different, but God is there.  He has not deserted you!  Nothing has taken Him by surprise.  Furthermore, God is pleased with the direction he has of your life.
 
 However, you may say, "But I know that have fallen away for walking as a Christian."  God says, "You don't have to stay there!"  Again, God has not deserted you!  He will lift you up with His mighty hand and put you back on the right path.
